Yes, permits are required for Gurez Valley. Indian nationals need Inner Line Permits (ILP) available from the District Commissioner’s office in Bandipora or through Gul e Safar. Foreign nationals require Protected Area Permits (PAP). We assist with all permit documentation.

May to September is ideal. June-July offer blooming meadows and pleasant weather. August provides lush greenery, while September brings autumn colors. The valley remains snow-bound from November to April and is generally inaccessible during winter.

Approximately 123 km (~5-6 hours drive) via Bandipora. The journey includes the scenic Razdan Pass (3,500m). Road conditions can be challenging, so 4WD vehicles are recommended. Gul e Safar provides comfortable SUVs with experienced drivers.

Limited accommodation is available in Dawar town — mostly guesthouses and homestays. Basic facilities with heating and hot water. We recommend booking in advance during peak season. Gul e Safar arranges comfortable stays for our guests.
